Meet Dr. Kimberly H. Merchant, DMD
Dr. Kimberly Merchant was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She attended Oregon State University and is still a huge Beavers fan. In 2001 she graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University with her doctorate of medicine in dentistry. Dr. Merchant was a Captain in the Army where she served as a general dentist. There she received an Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and an Army Service Ribbon. Dr. Merchant practiced as a general dentist prior to becoming an endodontist. This experience has helped her be able to diagnose and treatment plan with the restorative needs in mind. In 2006 she completed her endodontic residency at the Long Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Merchant has practiced as an endodontist for over 15 years, and has over 20 years of experience as a dentist. She is a member of the San Diego County Dental Society, the California Dental Association, the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.
Dr. Merchant understands that some patients are apprehensive about coming in for root canal treatment. She take her time and listens to each patient and addresses their concerns.
Dr. Merchant enjoys volunteering in her children’s classroom and being involved in their activities. She loves spending time with her husband Steve and their four children. Their favorite activities are camping, swimming, biking and family beach days.
